Are you ready? The biggest update for Lurch Restaurant Reservations is coming.. Not only does this update bring a completely new interface, but we have added nifty new functionalities which will be unmissable for our current and future users! Read all about this new update in this blog.

The new interface: user friendly and a new design

You might have noticed the new signup and login pages we published a few weeks ago? This was just a small sample of what you can expect of our new design. Noticeable about the new design is how much lighter the new look is and the use of earthy tones, as used in our logo.

Even though we adjusted the colour palette to be lighter, we will offer a darker variant which can we toggled by switching to ‘dark mode’.

Easy setup and quicker adjustments

The new interface is not only easier on the eyes, it is also easier to navigate and adjust settings! The general settings will now be spread over different pages, making it easier to find the settings for a related topic, and no longer be crammed into one single page. This will cut the search time for certain settings and make it less frustrating to manage.

The new functionalities

  • Add reviews to your own website
    At the moment, it is already possible to collect reviews through Lurch Restaurant Reservations: guests receive a text message or e-mail with a review request after their visit to your restaurant (or order). Now, you will be able to export this piece of code to your website! The customers will get a complete overview of the reviews.
     
  • Super reservations
    A super reservation is a reservation that ignores all previously set properties, so a restaurant owner can put in a reservation for any day of the week, any time of day. But keep in mind to use this super reservation as an exception only!

  • Filter reservations on status
    ​​​​​​​It is already possible to adjust the status of a reservation so the system will show if a booking is at the table or if its pending. The new update brings a brand new function which can filter on status: you will now have a clearer overview of your reservations. Even cancelled reservations and no-shows can be found here.
     
  • A single name field for reservations
    ​​​​​​​The new update also changed the name fields in the reservation form. Before, guests would have to fill in their first name, insertion and last name separately. We have now combined these fields into one single field: now it is easier to fill in the complete name, or guests have the option to reserve a table under just their first name or last name.

When can you expect this new update?

Right now we are still dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s to make sure the new design functions optimally. We are working hard to launch the renewed design at the start of next week, so our customers can enjoy this new experience as soon as possible!

Even though the interface has changed and we have added some new functionalities, the rest will remain the same. All settings for your restaurant will be saved and you can still login to Lurch the same way as you did before. This new update will make Lurch more user friendly and generally nicer to look at.
